Subaru of America Visits Shelsley Walsh For a Mighty Hill Climb Experience
Subaru of America recently descended on Shelsley Walsh’s historic hill climb course with a group of leading American journalists, keen to push the 2019 WRX STI to the limit.
As the PR partner for Shelsley Walsh, we spent the day hosting journalists from Jalopnik, Roadshow, Hagerty, Autoweek and more, where they learned the ins and outs of hill climbing on one of the country’s most challenging courses.
Shelsley Walsh put the journalists through their paces in a special driving school session, while we provided support by answering questions about the venue’s past and present and photographing the journalists’ experience throughout the day. For many of them, it was the first time they’d ever tackled a hill climb, and found it to be unlike anything they’d ever done before.
After the event, we continued to liaise with each journalist, providing them with photography and information so that they could capture the venue and its history accurately, and ensured that we gave them a compelling story upon which to build their articles.
Although the journalists had been invited by Subaru as part of a visit to the world-renowned Goodwood Revival, with a stop-off at Shelsley on the way, they all enjoyed their experience so much that their coverage focused almost entirely on their visit to Shelsley Walsh.
